The British Benevolent Fund’s Patron, the British Ambassador to Spain, Hugh Elliott joined forces with the embassy’s pumpkins to help to raise much needed funds in this challenging time.
The fundraising Halloween themed event brought participants from across Europe as well as British residents in Spain who between them raised nearly 1,200 Euros for the BBF’s appeal.
This was the first virtual event the BBF has held and included a magical show by the Barcelona based magician James The Magnificent
The money raised goes towards providing financial assistance for UK residents in Spain who this year have found themselves facing hardship due to the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
Working with the UK consular network and partner charities throughout Spain, the BBF will be providing around 50,000 Euros in grants and relief to people seeking financial help with repatriation, medical bills as well as home and utility costs.
